The Taylor Fascial Technique

Guest Instructor || 2026 CE Courses

Day 1: Lumbrosacral Hip Complex

Day 2: Knee, Ankle, & foot-Lower Extremity Approaches.

This course provides a concise introduction to the Taylor Technique for myofascial assessment and treatment, with guidance on integrating these methods into participants’ existing practices.

Day 1: How to Give a Full Body Myofascial Session

Day 2: Self Care, Stretching, Strengthening & Hydrotherapy

This course provides a concise introduction to the Taylor Technique for myofascial assessment and treatment, with guidance on integrating these methods into participants’ existing practices.

Day 1: Fascial Fundamentals

Day 2: “HOPMNRS” Approach to Assessment

This course provides a concise introduction to the Taylor Technique for myofascial assessment and treatment, with guidance on integrating these methods into participant’ existing practices.

Day 1: Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction & Thoracic Outlet

Day 2: Breast Fascia & Pectoral Girdle

This workshop will take therapists through a detailed HOPMNRS assessment of the TMJ and Cervical Spine, then progress into treatment ideas to release the TMJ/Thoracic Outlet and surrounding fascial tissues. Focus will be on release of the Trapezius & SCM, which share the same fascial sheath, and how to differentiate this superficial layer from the deeper muscles of the cervical spine. How to use the ear, which connects directly to the TMJ, to facilitate opening of the joint indirectly, as well as direct treatment modalities to the temporomandibular joint itself will be shown, via soft tissue and joint mobilization techniques. Release of the sternal, clavipectoral, deltopectoral fascias, and the galea aponeurotica within the context of affecting the upper tracks of the deep front fascial line are valuable tools in resetting postural contributors to these disorders. Mastoid, jugular foramen, and hyoid/throat modalities will also be shown, as well as direct treatment procedures for the temporalis, masseter, medial and lateral pterygoids. A cylindrical approach to treating the many compartments of the cervical spine comfortably will be the primary focus, as TMJ Disorder and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome are dramatically improved by postural balance in this region. Pain-free intra-oral work using gloves, will round out the many treatment approaches taught during the class, as well as discussion of how to effectively work within the pain tolerance of the patient in this region. Dealing with somato-emotional release will also be covered, to prepare the therapist for this potential when treating this disorder.

Day 2 Myofascial Assessment and Treatment of Breast Fascia & Pectoral Girdle

This myofascial approach to treatment of the pectoral girdle and related tissues, will provide participants with the confidence to perform hands-on techniques in a sensitive, yet highly under-treated area. Learning to work on scar tissue, musculature, and fascia post-surgery, or following any other trauma, is an effective means to improve posture for the client.  Improving the pliability and flexibility of scar tissue has also been shown to significantly decrease pain, especially in the neck and shoulder girdle. Work will be demonstrated draped or through clothing/sheet to provide options for patient & therapist comfort.

Day 1: Shoulder, Elbow, & Wrist-Upper Extremity Approaches

Day 2: Abdomen, Ribcage, & Pelvis

This workshop covers Myofascial assessment of the shoulder, elbow and wrist as it applies to formulating effective treatment goals for a variety of disorders in the region, such as Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Adhesive Capsulitis/”frozen shoulder”, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, DeQuervain’s Tenosynovitis, “Blackberry thumb”, Shoulder tendinosis, etc. Participants will be shown how to release clavipectoral, deltopectoral, platysmal, sternal, cubital, flexor & extensor superficial fascias, before deeper structures are addressed. Scapular mobilization supine and prone will be demonstrated, with specific releases to all muscles & fascial tissues involved in upper extremity dysfunction. Clavicle mobilization and abdominal head of pec major release round out the shoulder approaches. In addition, joint mobilizations and osseous techniques are shown for the clavicle, scapula, and upper extremity joints. Treatment of the elbow and wrist, with focus on decompressing the radius & ulna from the humerus, decompressing the Carpal Tunnel, as well as mobilizing the carpals & phalanges, can improve & prevent many of the above disorders.

Day 2 Myofascial Assessment and Treatment of Abdomen, Ribcage, & Pelvis

This course will remove any discomfort felt by therapists when working on the Abdomen, Ribcage & Pelvis, by combining in depth assessment approaches with effective myofascial release techniques. Therapists will spend time doing direct techniques, such as release of the abdominal/peritoneal fascia, and iliac/inguinal fascia, as well as indirect techniques, such as release of groin/pubic fascias. Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) will be employed, along with passive stretching with traction (limb unwinding), to perform the indirect techniques. Once learned, PNF and limb unwinding can be applied anywhere in the body. Patients will experience improved digestion from the abdominal work, improved breathing from the ribcage/diaphragm work, and better flexibility in the back and hips from the pelvic work. Decreased back, shoulder, and neck pain can be expected from all of the modalities used.

Day 1: Lumbrosacral Hip Complex

Day 2: Knee, Ankle, & foot-Lower extremity approaches

This workshop will provide therapists with a new approach to effectively treating & preventing Lumbrosacral-Hip Complex pain. Therapists will review myofascial assessment by discussing intake information, as well as using observation, movement, palpation, neurological assessment, referral pain and special tests to translate a patient’s clinical info into an effective treatment plan. The majority of time is spent in hands-on practice of techniques for direct and indirect treatment of the lumbar spine, ribcage, pelvis, lower and upper extremities, as they all relate to back and hip pain. Supine and prone lower and upper extremity stretch protocols are shown, as well as how to apply proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation if necessary. In addition, very specific lumbar/trunk, hip/thigh, and ilial/ischial release techniques will be highlighted.

Day 2 Myofascial Assessment and Treatment  of Knee, Ankle, & foot-Lower extremity approaches

This workshop will provide therapists with different Myofascial approaches to effectively treat & prevent Knee, Ankle & Foot pain. Therapists will briefly review Myofascial assessment, by looking at ways to take a client’s intake information, and translate it into an effective treatment plan. The majority of time is spent in hands-on practice of techniques for direct and indirect treatment of the lower extremity (a great continuation of the Lumbrosacral Hip workshop). Myofascial treatment & joint mobilization of the lower extremity is a necessary therapeutic approach to address sacroiliac dysfunction, back, hip, knee, & ankle pain. Treatment techniques for the lateral, anterior, and “back” fascial lines are shown, with very specific direction in effectively accessing the gastrocnemius-soleus complex and Achilles’ tendon. In addition, approaches to treating the Crural, Hamstrings, Patellar Fascias, & Fascia Lata of the thigh are shown. Superior & inferior knee joint release, plantar fascial treatment, joint mobilizations/osseous techniques for the lower extremity, and correcting pes cavus/planus round out the list of topics covered.
